Hout Bay is the most iconic bay on the Cape Peninsula with a very lively harbour and stunning views. The very sheltered bay is reasonably protected from most of the bad weather that will make other locations impossible to kayak.
The trip starts out in Hout Bay harbour and will take you past the seal sanctuary and out into the bay. From there you will have incredible views of Chapman’s Peak, The Sentinel and the mountains surrounding Hout Bay. Marine life you could expect to see are seals, dolphins, whales, penguins, sunfish and a number of seabirds floating and flying by.

You don’t need any previous experience to kayak. Any abled body person can do it. As long as you are fit enough to walk for about an hour, you will be fit enough to do this. The double kayaks are very stable and it is very unlikely that you will fall off. If you do, it is also very easy to get back on. It is not a requirement that you need to be able to swim. You will be wearing a lifejacket the whole time. All of the trips are accompanied by an experienced guide that will give you a short lesson before setting out and that will assist you in any emergency.
